Marla Maples Wiki Biography

American model, actress, film producer, as well as television personality and socialite, Marla Maples was born on 27 October 1963, in Dalton, Georgia, but is probably still best known as a former wife of business magnate, investor and now President of the US Donald Trump.

So just how rich is Marla Maples? According to authoritative sources, Maples’ net worth is estimated to be over $20 million, as of early 2017. Undoubtedly, the majority of Marla’s wealth comes from her involvement in the entertainment industry, and possibly the settlement following her divorce from Trump.

Marla Maples attended Northwest Whitfield High School, but Maples’ rise to fame began with her affair with Donald Trump, since when she has been making on screen appearances and hosting various events. Maples’ first cameo role was in the action film with Kurt Russell, Halle Berry, Steven Seagal and Oliver Platt entitled “Executive Decision”. Prior to that, Maples starred in a largely criticized horror film “Maximum Overdrive”, for which director Stephen King actually ‘won’ a Raspberry Award for Worst Director, while Emilio Estevez received an award for Worst Actor. In 1998, Maples starred in an ensemble movie alongside Jane Adams, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jared Harris and Lara Flynn Boyle called “Happiness”, and a year later appeared with Robert Downey Jr., Allan Houston and Jared Leto in “Black and White”.

Marla Maples debuted on Broadway in 1991, in a play entitled “The Will Rogers Follies”, in which she played the character of “Ziegfeld’s favorite” – Maples came back to the theatre scene in 2011, when she made an appearance in an off-Broadway production “Love, Loss and What I Wore”.

Also in 1991, Maples was a guest on the seventh annual wrestling pay-per-view event “WrestleMania VII”, where she supported the then-champion Robert Remus, better known as Sgt. Slaughter.

Almost always present on television screens –- for one reason or another -, Marla Maples has guest starred in several sitcoms. In 1997, she starred in “Spin City” with Michael J. Fox, Charlie Sheen and her distant cousin Heather Locklear, while in 1999 she made an appearance in the television series “The Nanny”.

Maples also ventured into the music industry, and released an album called “The Endless”, with the song “House of Love” earning her a Hollywood Music in Media award.

However, she is perhaps best known for ‘the Trump affair’, which started in 1986 while he was still married to his first wife Ivana, who filed for divorce in 1992. A year later Trump married Maples, but they divorced in 1999, having had a daughter, Tiffany. in 1993. Marla Maples had been engaged to Michael Mailer, a son of the famous novelist and journalist Norman Mailer for a while, but the couple split up for unknown reasons.

Personal relationships aside, Marla Maples presently works as a host on “Contact Talk Radio”, which is her personal radio show that airs on the first Friday of every month

Quote
1 If we could have somehow stayed away from the public and the press, it might have been different, but every private issue seemed to be played out on the front page.
2 When I was 18, I joined the Screen Actors Guild, and after college I came to New York.
3 When that man wants something, he’ll stop at nothing to get it. And I also believed in the good of him.
4 I’m happy to have had everything healed. We’re fine.
5 Tiffany is very proud to have the last name and she’s proud of her dad.
6 Donald and I still really wanted to be together, but I was fighting to keep what we had privately, and once the world gets involved in your life, little by little it breaks it down until you forget what it was in the first place.
7 He’s part of the product and will make no bones about creating that image to bring the value up in his product, bring the value up in everything he touches.
8 I was holding a reserve inside all along. When you’re with someone as powerful as Donald, you have no choice. You can get lost within that power if you’re not careful.
9 I met Donald Trump in ’85. I ran into him several times throughout the years. We knew we had this connection, but it wasn’t appropriate timing. So we’d spend a lot of time on the telephone. By ’88, I knew I truly loved this guy.
10 I think what he loved about me the most was that I wasn’t part of that world. But once we were together publicly, he wanted to change me into that social animal.
11 I went to work. That was a turning point. When you have to do eight shows a week and your name is on the marquee, no matter what is going on at home or what’s on the cover of the newspapers, you’ve got to do your job.
12 I’m not a big believer in a thing called luck. I believe it has a lot to do with fate and just really having a vision of the way you would see your life.
13 When we separated, I did not want to get in a slugfest. I had to take the high ground.
14 This relationship is going to be built on trust.
15 What was a really private and nice relationship was judged and made to be something ugly.
16 I was made to believe there was a plan in place for ending Donald’s previous marriage. I pulled away because I wanted to allow him the time to deal with his wife.
17 I’ve always modeled myself after Ginger.
18 I look back at old photographs and videotapes, and I go, Who was I trying to be? Who was I doing this for?
19 I was homecoming queen. I was star of my basketball team.
20 My personal life was fair game. And that’s what hurt me.
21 Every story was being made up. My true friends weren’t the ones speaking. It was people who never knew me, making up stories. Even my local paper put a $1,000 bounty out for information about my whereabouts.
22 The problem with losing your anonymity is that you can never go back.
23 I created a production company. Right now I am so happy in my work.
24 I finally said, I can’t live being carried by this wake.
25 He works his business and manipulates and keeps himself in front of the world.
26 I have a little baby. She knows who I am. My friends know. My family knows.
27 I don’t think he cheated on me. During the marriage, I think he was there.
