He has been in the position since 1997, when he took over for the departing General Manager Bob Quinn. Two World Series (2010 and 2012), four National League pennants (2002, 2010, 2012, and 2014), five National League West Division championships (1997, 2000, 2003, 2010, and 2012), two National League Wild Card games (2002, 2014), and a National League Wild Card tie-breaker game with Chicago have all been won by the Giants during his tenure. During the previous two seasons, the team was eliminated from postseason contention on the last day of the regular season on both occasions.
