A ‘drink-driver’ led cops on a 100mph chase for 13 miles with four children in his truck before finally parking up and getting out with a baby in his arms.

According to Lieutenant Kenneth Benoit, spokesman for the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, authorities saw the white Ford pick-up truck around 1.30am yesterday morning.

They pursued it as it swerved in and out of traffic, driving erratically.

The truck was speeding along the Sam Houston Tollway and deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office pursued it for 13 miles through West Houston.

Benoit said the driver reached speeds of 100mph during the chase.

There were four children in the truck during the chase, aged eight and under.

Three other children were found by deputies in the truck later.

The man, described as in his late 20s or early 30s, was pursued by cops for 13 miles in west Houston early yesterday morning and reached speeds of 100mph. After finally pulling over, he left his truck with a baby in his arms. Pictured: A Harris County Sheriff holding the baby in his arms

Their pursuit ended when the man, described as Hispanic and in his late 20s or early 30s, pulled off of the tollway.

The man stopped his car in the 7100 block of Corporate Drive and came out with a baby in his arms.

Cops were later seen with the baby while one held it in his arms.

Benoit said: ‘We were able to get him detained, place him in handcuffs in the back of the vehicle.’

They took the man into custody after he was stopped and no injuries were reported.

Benoit said the driver faces felony charges of child endangerment, evading in a motor vehicle and driving while intoxicated.
