A 17-year-old boy suspected of killing a Tempe University student over the weekend turned himself in to police on Wednesday after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Philadelphia police say that Latif Williams tried to carjack Samuel Collington Sunday as the Temple senior was returning from Thanksgiving with his family, as CrimeOnline previously reported. The two struggled, and Williams reportedly shot Collington in the face, hands, and abdomen before fleeing.

Collington was rushed to a nearby hospital but died from his injuries.

Investigators found video of the incident and on Wednesday, named Williams as the suspect.

WPVI reported that Williams was accompanied by an attorney when he surrendered to police.

Sources told KYW that Williams may have been involved as many as four other carjackings in the area where Collington was killed. Court records show that he was arrested in the summer for another armed carjacking, but prosecutors withdrew the charges when the victim did not show up for a pre-trial hearing.
