Atkins became the assistant head coach and offensive line coach responsible for the overall performance of his team. During his final season, he also held game coordinator responsibilities with the New Orleans.
In 2019, Alex was selected as the offensive line coach for Florida State University. For his contributions, he is going to be promoted as the offensive coordinator for the 2022 season.
