A 6-month-old Atlanta baby has died after he was caught in the crossfire of two shooters on Monday afternoon.

According to Atlanta Police Chief Rodney Bryant, infant Grayson Fleming was rushed to Grady Hospital following the shooting, where he was pronounced dead. At least two people were involved in the shooting, Bryant said during a Monday afternoon press conference.

Bryant said the Atlanta Police Department is following leads and trying to locate the suspects, but so far, they’ve not been identified. Police hope that a released security video of the suspects’ vehicles can help lead to arrests.

The incident happened at a convenience store off of Anderson Avenue NW and Tiger Flowers Drive NW in Atlanta, at around 2:45 p.m. Bryant said the shooting didn’t appear to be intentional against the baby.

Meanwhile, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens took notice and vowed to help catch the suspects and give the victim’s family justice.

“I am here because I want the family of this innocent 6-month-old child to know that we care,” Dickens said. “The children are bearing the brunt and losing their lives because adults are unable to settle their disputes without going to guns.”

I’m demanding that it stops. We’re going to put an end to it. This hurts, this is a 6-month-old child that we lost… We’re going to solve this case and we’re going to bring justice.”
