Nasa Hataoka was born to parents Jinichi Hataoka (Father) and Hiromi Hataoka (Mother).

Born on 13 January 1999, the 23-year-old athlete was reportedly named Nasa by her parents after the National Aeronautics and Space Association, hoping that she too achieves equivalent greatness in life. 

Her mother used to work as a staff at a local golf course of the Ibaraki Prefecture in Japan, where she would take her daughter sometimes. It was at this place where her passion and curiosity towards golfing began, and the rest is history.
