    Father Stuart, also known as Father Stu, was 50 years old when he died in 2014. His struggle with a long terminal illness was the cause of his death.

    After surviving a terrible motorcycle accident, he found a new view towards life which led him to the surprising realization that he is meant to be a Catholic priest as per Daily Mail.

    He worked as an actor, boxer, teacher, and museum manager before discovering his call to the priesthood. After being hit by a car and nearly dying, he was enchanted into a religious experience in the hospital and later converted to Catholicism. During his baptism, he realized he was called to be a priest. Stuart then entered the seminary in 2003 and was ordained a diocesan priest in 2007.

    His miraculous transformation from an agnostic troublemaker to a mystical encounter with God is truly divine.

    According to MSF-America,  Father Stu got diagnosed with a muscular disorder called inclusion body myositis after removing a fist-sized tumor from his hip. Eventually, this disease caused the slowing down of his body and weakened his body.

    Stuart Boxer is a real story based on the truly inspiring story of boxer-turned-priest Father Stuart Long.

    The film incorporates his inspiring journey from self-destruction to redemption.

    His parents, Bill and Kathleen Long, make up Father Long’s family.

    He is also survived by his three Corona siblings, Amy (Tom), Jennifer, and Scott (Kathy).

    Along the way to becoming a priest, Stuart tries to mend his relationship with his estranged parents and repair their broken familial bond.
