He once noticed a chickenpox blister on the girl’s head and wondered if she had passed it on to his son. At the time, the symptoms were severe, and there was no effective treatment for chickenpox.

His son developed rashes on his face, which quickly spread throughout his body, just as he had suspected. When his son was sick, he and his wife had sleepless nights.

Then he realized he should use his virus knowledge to create a chickenpox vaccine. He was in his early thirties at the time and had spent the majority of his career researching measles and polio viruses.

Dr Michiaki Takahashi‘s estimated net worth has not been revealed. He passed away at the age of 84/85 in 2013. He might have made good capital out of his inventions and contribution to medical science.

He was given the title professor emeritus when he retired from Osaka University. His contribution to Chickenpox is so commendable that Google displayed Doodle on February 17, 2022, to commemorate Dr. Michiaki Takahashi’s 94th birthday.

The fortune he left behind when he died, on the other hand, would go to his beneficiary. They could be his wife and two children. There is no information available about his salary or other assets.
