Volodymyr Zelenskyy has a net worth of approximately $1.5 million in 2022, according to This Nation. He is a politician, actor, and comedian from Ukraine. He has been Ukraine’s president since May 2019.
However, if one looks into his past, it is difficult to believe that he ever intended to enter politics or run for president.
He earned a law degree after graduating from the Kryvyi Rih Institute of Economics. However, he did not pursue a career in that field.
Rather, at the age of 17, he joined the local KVN (comedy competition) team and was quickly invited to join the unified Ukrainian club “Zaporizhia-Kryvyi Rih-Transit,” which competed in the KVN’s Major League and eventually won in 1997.
In the same year, he founded and led the Kvartal 95 crew, which evolved into the comedy group Kvartal 95. The team members spent a lot of time in Moscow and traveled to post-Soviet countries on a regular basis.
Kvartal 95 then began producing TV shows for Ukrainian TV station 1+1 in 2003, and in 2005, the crew relocated to Inter, another Ukrainian TV channel.
He began appearing in films after 2008. He appeared in several films, including Love in the Big City and Office Romance. Rzhevsky vs. Napoleon, Our Time Eight First Dates, Love in Vegas, Eight New Dates, and I, You, He, and She.
He also appeared on some television series such as Dancing with the stars (Ukraine), Svaty, and Servant of the people. He had earned a tremendous amount of name and fame in the entertainment industry when he suddenly decided to join politics in 2019.
Kvartal 95 members founded a political party named Servant of the People in March 2018 by members and produced the same-named television series.
According to Wikipedia, in a March 2019 interview with Der Spiegel, Zelenskyy stated that he entered politics “to restore public trust in politicians. He added that he wanted “to bring professional, decent people to power” and that he “would like to change the mood and timbre of the political establishment, as much as possible.”
And, within a year of joining politics, he stood up for presidential candidacy and won the election. However, he had promised that he would take office for only one term, i.e., five years.
Currently, it was his third year in office, and the war has taken place despite his efforts and sanctions of Russia from many western countries.
