Officials said Tuesday that David Mora Rojas, who was under a restraining order and wasn’t supposed to have a gun, fatally shot his three daughters, a chaperone, and himself during a supervised visit with the children at a Sacramento County church.

Investigators are trying to figure out why the father did what he did and how he got the gun used in Monday’s incident. He was not allowed to own a gun in California because of the restraining order.

According to Gun Violence Archive, the incident was the 70th mass shooting in the United States in 2022, with at least four persons injured or killed, not including the perpetrator.

Nathaniel Kong, identified as one of the victims, was shot dead in the church shooting in Sacramento. He was acting as a chaperone and was 59 years old.

The shooting occurred during a court-ordered meeting between the children and their father, David Mora Rojas on Monday night. Nathaniel was also present with them and acted as a chaperone.

Nathaniel Kong was supervising the family visit but was shot dead in the shooting. The killing was condemned by Gov. Gavin Newsom as another senseless act of gun violence in America.

Nathaniel Kong Wikipedia Explored

Nathaniel Kong does not have a Wikipedia page. There is not much detailed information about his biography on the web.

He was a mutual friend and acted as a chaperone. The shooter was under a restraining order and had to visit his children under supervision.

The three girls, aged nine, ten, and thirteen, went to Natomas Unified School District in northeastern Sacramento. Counselors and chaplains were present at the schools on Tuesday to offer assistance.

David Mora Rojas Murder Motive: Why Did He Kill Nathaniel Kong?

During a supervised visit on Feb. 28, David Mora Rojas killed his children Samantha Mora Gutierrez, 10, Samarah Mora Gutierrez, 9, and Samia Mora Gutierrez, 13 and Nathaniel Kong, 59, before killing himself.

The shooting, according to investigators, occurred during a supervised visit for the father inside the church with the children. After being with him for almost 15 years, the children’s mother obtained a restraining order against him, according to the submitted petition.

A request for a domestic violence restraining order was filed on April 28, 2021, according to court documents acquired by ABC10. David Mora Rojas was arrested for DUI and violence on a police officer a week before he killed his children and Nathaniel Kong.
