Police have taken a guy into custody almost a year after the incident that claimed Elijah Wood’s life. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office only recently released information on Ahkil Crumpton’s arrest after he was taken into custody.

Elijah Wood, 23, was shot and killed while working at the RaceTrac petrol station. The police were finally able to make an arrest thanks to surveillance footage and the assistance and cooperation of the local community.

Ahkil Crumpton has been arrested for the murder of Elijah Wood.

As per the Oconee County Sheriff’s Department, they have been tracking the guy since Mid-February when they got the tip on the gun that was used during the shooting. They announced the arrest on Wednesday, March 16.

Further details reveal that Crumpton played college football for the University of Georgia. He was a wide receiver and played for UGA in 2017 and 2018. Also, he was a student of the University until 2021.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia is now holding Ahkil Crumpton.

Given the nature of the act, Ahkil might face charges including first-degree murder, illegal weapon usage, and a slew of other offenses. If convicted, he faces a minimum sentence of 20 years in prison.

However, no trial date has been established yet. The arrest was made relatively recently, and there are a number of procedures to complete before a trial date is set.

It’s a relief for estranged relatives and friends who were still grieving over the catastrophe. They’ve finally received justice.
