One count of online solicitation of a minor, one count of delivery of harmful material to a child, and one count of unlawful use of a two-way device have been filed against Alejandro Carmona, a JSO officer.

Clay County Undersheriff Ron Lendvay and Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Undersheriff Pat Ivey presented the accusations at a news conference on Wednesday morning.

According to a report received by investigators, an officer met a 16-year-old Clay County teen at the My Time Fitness facility in Lake Asbury.

The victim, a high school student, believed he was going to obtain fitness advice from Carmona, according to investigators.

Carmona demanded that the victim send him images of him without his shirt on Snapchat, and he sent the youngster full-frontal [email protected] photos, photos of his face, and photos of him in his police uniform.

Carmona was arrested by Clay County deputies on Tuesday. According to detectives, he posted bond and was freed.

Carmona has been with JSO for 15 and a half years. He was placed on unpaid immediate suspension and was denied the opportunity to resign.

Carmona’s job is now being sought to be terminated by JSO, according to Ivey. According to authorities, this is the fourth arrest of a JSO officer in 2022.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, these types of crimes frequently involve several victims.

Carmona’s bond was set at $100,009 for all three charges. He was also prohibited from contacting the victim, using the internet, or having any interaction with kids other than his own children.
