West Ham are reportedly plotting a move for Chelsea loanee Armando Broja in the summer transfer window as David Moyes looks to bolster his options up front.

The Hammers have been short on centre-forwards this season, with Michail Antonio the only senior member of the squad in the position.

Winger Jarrod Bowen is currently West Ham’s top scorer this season on 16 goals across all competitions, with Antonio behind on 11.

According to The Sun, the Hammers are planning on making a move for Broja, who has impressed on loan at Southampton.

The current sanctions imposed on Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich mean the club are banned from transfer activities until a takeover has been completed.

Southampton are also interested in keeping Broja, with the striker having scored nine goals across all competitions for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side.

The report states that Southampton may be able to move quickly and sign Broja permanently should they offer the 20-year-old wages similar to Saints forwards Che Adams and Adam Armstrong.

However, West Ham are ready to rival Southampton for the Albania international, with the Hammers potentially offering the bonus of European football.

Moyes’ side exceeded expectations as they reached the semi-finals of the Europa League, but their journey came to an end after losing 3-1 on aggregate to Eintracht Frankfurt.

The east London club will be looking to end their Premier League campaign strongly to secure European football again for next season.

They currently occupy seventh spot in the table, and if they finish there, they will earn a spot in the Europa Conference League.
