Wolves’ FA Cup clash with Liverpool was hit by a city-wide power-cut in the opening few minutes of the clash.

Floodlights at Molineux flickered off slightly in the first few minutes of the FA Cup match, preventing Wolves star Adama Traore from crossing the ball.

The light came back on seconds later with the players left bemused after a bright start to the contest with play resuming after a brief break.

VAR remained out of action until the 16th minute of the match when it finally returned.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds, however, had a 1-0 lead thanks to midfielder Harvey Elliott by the time VAR had returned.

Elliott ran 20 yards before unleashing a wonderful left-footed strike that caught Jose Sa out and found the back of the net in the 13th minute of the match.

It wasn’t the only bizarre thing to happen during the FA Cup clash, as BBC’s coverage of Liverpool’s FA Cup replay at Wolves was embarrassingly interrupted by loud porn noises.

Shortly after the programme started, the noises began, although it was unclear as to the source.

The broadcaster cut away for a pre-match interview with Jurgen Klopp, but after returning to the studio the noises started up again.

Presenter Gary Lineker saw the funny side, as he joked: ‘Would you stop making those noises, Danny,’ directing his quip at pundit Danny Murphy.

After over 10 minutes of the noises, Lineker was relieved to hand over to the channel’s commentary team prior to kick-off.

Moments after the game got underway, Lineker then tweeted to confirm that he had finally discovered where the noise was coming from.

‘Well, we found this taped to the back of the set,’ Lineker wrote alongside a picture of a mobile phone.

‘As sabotage goes it was quite amusing.’
