Winners And Grades After Tony Khan’s Huge Announcement

AEW President Tony Khan delivered his important announcement as Adam Cole announced a new series: AEW All Access.

Adam Cole made the announcement, stating “in March, next month, there’s going to be a weekly one-hour television series, immediately after Dynamite and that’s going to be called AEW All Access.”

Cole, who also announced he will make his debut on that day, described it as a show presenting AEW like you’ve never seen before. All Access sounds like a much-needed reality show for AEW to better develop its many one-dimensional characters.

AEW Dynamite advertised Wheeler Yuta vs. Orange Cassidy, Jon Moxley vs. Evil Uno, Skye Blue vs. Saraya, The Acclaimed vs. Big Bill and Lee Moriarty and live appearances by Bryan Danielson and Christian Cage. Dynamite also advertised a Revolution Battle Royale.

Last week’s broadcast of AEW Dynamite, featuring Mark Briscoe’s AEW debut, garnered 1.003 million viewers.

AEW Dynamite Winners And Grades

Orange Cassidy def. Wheeler Yuta

This crowd was incredible from the start, which helped a great match become even greater.

This match embodied the story of AEW in recent weeks. Great wrestling matches that nobody is going to remember in a few weeks because of the lack of a powerful storyline.

Claudio Castagnoli, playing the role of abusive pro wrestling dad, slapped Wheeler Yuta midway through the match. Yuta wrestled like even more of a heel from there on out.

After Yuta’s loss, he declined a hug from Cassidy, solidifying a heel turn for the BCC. It’s good to see AEW finally realize that making pro wrestling your whole identity is a heel gimmick.

Chris Jericho vs. Ricky Starks Official for Revolution

Not only did Chris Jericho accept Ricky Starks’ challenge, he laid out Peter Avalon with a Judas Effect—while wearing a spiked jacket—beforehand.

“You can’t have a revolution without Chris Jericho” is an apt description to why AEW was able to have a company.

Starks admitted he legitimately believes Jericho can beat Starks one-on-one. Somehow, it prompted Jericho to sign a contract where the two would face off without JAS by his side, but he didn’t have a pen. Thankfully, Starks did.

The biggest pop of this segment came when WWE channeled his former WWE character and clicked a pen.

The Acclaimed def. Big Bill and Lee Moriarty

Max Caster’s bars were once again on-point as he made a reference to Big Bill’s sex life by using his old “SAWFT” catchphrase.

The early contender for chant of the night happened when fans chanted “scissor-zona.” Fans popped huge when Max Caster and Anthony Bowens scissored.

Christian Destroys Jungle Boy

Jungle Boy attacked Christian from behind, as a babyface, only for the heel to come back and win the brawl. Christian got the upper hand when Jungle Boy Jack Perry hesitated on delivering a con-chair-t0.

Christian’s beatdown on Jungle Boy received massive heat and Jungle Boy even bled. Sadly for Jungle Boy, fans quickly got over it when they saw Aubrey Edwards rush to the scene.

Saraya def. Skye Blue

Skye Blue had a handful of rough spots to start this match.

Saraya won this match by submission, and the duo was interrupted by Baker and Hayter. Skye Blue and Toni Storm should be much bigger stars in AEW, especially Saraya. Unfortunately, they’re hampered by mid storytelling.

Ruby Soho teased that she wants a shot at the women’s world title, which makes me think Soho will ultimately join up with Saraya and Storm after losing.

MJF Faces off with Bryan Danielson

MJF received a massive reaction as it became clear that these people don’t give a damn about what story AEW is trying to tell over the past several weeks.

MJF eventually garnered heel heat for a tremendous heel promo. Things escalated when MJF began mentioning Bryan’s children.

The brawl at the end was very well done as it looked very realistic in how wild and intense it was.

AEW Revolution Tag Team Battle Royale

Danhausen was thrown out and fans booed loudly, even though Danhausen wasn’t in the battle royal.

There was one elimination after another, and the crowd was frenetic throughout. In front of any other crowd this would have been paint-by-the-numbers, but Phoenix really leveled up this battle royal.

Jarrett and Lethal received so much heat for winning this battle royal. They might be the best heels going right now.

Jon Moxley def. Evil Uno

AEW did a good job of elevating Evil Uno to this position to help tell the story between Hangman Adam Page and Jon Moxley.

Evil Uno opened this match like a house afire and really got the crowd on his side.

There was a post-match brawl that brought out Hangman Adam Page to, what I can only assume, is his new theme music. Not only was it a massive downgrade from his original music, it might be the worst theme music on the roster.
