Eron Corrales was recently arrested by the Glendale Police Department for allegedly shooting Byron Lamar McBrine on August 2nd.

The Glendale Police Department utilized its Real Time Crime Center to gather crucial information in the process of apprehending Corrales.

On August 2nd, a Glendale Police Department police officer witnessed a group of people running out of Bonsall Park South in the area of 59th Avenue and Bethany Home Road. They were pointing towards McBrine, who was lying on the ground.

Additional officers arrived and provided lifesaving assistance to McBrine, but unfortunately, he did not survive his injuries and passed away at the scene. After the shooting, witnesses reported to the Glendale Police Department that Corrales ran towards a blue four-door sedan.

Sgt. Randy Stewart from the Glendale Police Department highlighted the importance of their Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) in quickly obtaining information for making arrests. He emphasized that the collaborative efforts of the street officers, investigators, and the technology the Glendale Police Department employ are all crucial in ensuring the safety of the community and efficiently resolving cases.

The Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) helped the Glendale Police Department officers by providing live updates and monitoring city cameras to track the getaway car.

According to Stewart, Glendale Police Department was able to track down the suspect by using predictive analysis to determine the suspect’s location and the timeframe of the incident. By narrowing down possible vehicles in the area matching the description of a four-door blue car, the Glendale Police Department identified a Volkswagen car and obtained a partial license plate.

Using the said partial plate information, the Glendale Police Department traced the vehicle back to a rental place connected to the suspect. As a result, Glendale Police Department officers were able to arrest Corrales for drug charges and for the shooting at Bonsall Park South.

The RTCC (Real-Time Crime Center) has been a valuable asset to the Glendale Police Department since 2019. It has recently undergone upgrades to improve its effectiveness.

According to ABC 15, The Real Time Crime Center in the Glendale Police Department is the first of its kind in the state. It has more than 1,700 cameras which are not only city cameras but also private business cameras. The program incorporates license plate readers and police drones.

This advanced technology aims to enhance the Glendale Police Department’s ability to solve crimes effectively. Other cities in the valley are also starting to adopt this program.
