Pep Guardiola intends to continue having emotional post-match debriefs with his Manchester City players on the pitch despite Roy Keane’s criticism of his methods.
Keane claimed that Guardiola had planned a lengthy conversation with Erling Haaland at Old Trafford last Sunday just for the cameras, with the pair engrossed as they marched down the tunnel.
‘It’s all for show this, this is all for show,’ Keane said. ‘I’d have that chat in the dressing room, what’s the big deal?’
‘At my age I don’t need to do something for the people,’ the 52-year-old said.

‘It happened with Erling in Burnley. I can avoid it. But it’s what I feel in the moment.’
Haaland has started every Premier League match so far this season, netting 11 goals already, and Guardiola believes the Norwegian’s injury niggles are behind him.
‘He feels really fit now,’ the Spaniard added. ‘Sometimes he had niggles. Now it’s completely the opposite, he feels free of problems.
‘If he goes down and is tired, he takes a rest. Now, I think he’s feeling good.’
