The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office had the parking lot of the Mobil gas station blocked off for several hours for an investigation.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office had a Mobil station on Hart Road on Jacksonville’s Northside blocked off for two hours Monday to investigate an incident involving a white truck.

Managers of both the convenience store and the barber shop at the Mobil station said they saw a man in a white truck shoot several rounds into the air, then sped away.

He never tried to go into either business, but a car wash employee up the street watched it all unfold.

“I just ducked behind the car and I heard ‘bum, bum, bum,'” said Isaiah Moss while he washed a car a the intersection of Dunn Avenue and Hart Road.

Moss says he was going about his business, washing cars when he heard gun shots just one parking lot over.

When he heard the first pop, his first instinct was to use the car he was washing as a shield.

“He looked at me, and I looked at him,” said Moss. “I said ‘Nah bruh, I don’t need none of that.’ He just rolled past. It was crazy.”

Moss says he saw the man get back into a white truck and take off down Hart Road toward Dunn Avenue.

At the same time, the sheriff’s office worked a scene just a few miles South on I-95, also involving a white truck.

JSO has not confirmed these two incidents are related, but according to witnesses they are.

Michael Jackson is a pastor at a church on Hart Road.

He was hoping the addition of a new Fire Department on the street would help curb crime, so more flashing lights and caution tape are not a welcome sight.

“Hope people can get their mind focused on doing the right thing,” said Jackson. “I always try to tell people you can decide your action but you can’t decide your consequences.”

Police re-opened both I-95 and the gas station around 3:00 p.m. Monday.
