Matildas superstar Mary Fowler was a smash hit with children at a kindgergarten she’s supporting after returning to Australia and reuniting with her boyfriend Nathan Cleary on Tuesday night.

Fowler, 20, was paying a visit to the Rise & Shine Kindergarten at Beverley Park in the city’s south on Wednesday morning after signing on as a brand ambassador for the business.

Casually dressed in shorts and one of the kindergarten’s tops, a glowing Fowler was all smiles as she walked inside just hours after her romantic reunion with Cleary at Sydney Airport as they finally caught up after spending months apart.

‘I’ve always gravitated towards them. I love kids,’ Fowler said.

‘And football is one thing for me, but my big dream in life is to have my own family and have kids.

‘I love working with them and I just feel lucky that I get to do this.’

Afterwards, Fowler took to Instagram and posted wholesome shots of herself with the youngsters, including one with a child hugging her alongside a love heart emoji.

Fowler was happy to answer questions with the room full of kindergarteners but turned silent when questions shifted to her personal life.

‘Nathan was there to meet you last night at the airport, so that’s all good?’ said one reporter.

Fowler’s media team quickly shut down the line of questioning.

‘Sorry, we can’t ask that question,’ said the star’s public relations representative.

Australians have been desperate to find out the details of Fowler and Cleary’s romance after they went public by embracing at a Perth park last month.

Earlier in the morning she appeared on Today and was asked to pick the best moment of a year that included not just the Matildas’ stunning run at the World Cup, but her star rising to the point where she has just featured on the cover of Marie Claire magazine.

‘It’s hard to pick just one moment, but looking back, probably that penalty shootout against France [at the World Cup] was pretty epic,’ she said.

With Fowler’s Manchester City team not due to play until January 15, she has plenty of time to stay down under while she catches up with Cleary and her family in her home town of Cairns.

She and her footy star boyfriend had been apart since they said their goodbyes at Perth Airport on November 2, just days after their romance became public courtesy of Daily Mail Australia’s exclusive photos of them in a Perth park.

They were reunited for their first Christmas together with a photo of the couple meeting at the airport on Tuesday night circulating on social media.

Fowler was expected back in Australia on December 20, but arrived a day earlier than planned.

She was greeted by a smiling Cleary, with the couple sharing a kiss and a cuddle before making their way out of the arrivals hall.
