Jay Rodriguez can be Burnley’s lucky charm for their Boxing Day clash against Liverpool.

The two clubs are at opposite ends of the Premier League table but 34-year-old Rodriguez has scored against Liverpool for three different clubs and provided the assist when Southampton beat Jurgen Klopp’s side to reach the Carabao Cup final in 2017.

He has been on the winning side against them five times, as many times as he has lost.

‘My favourite memory was scoring twice at the Kop End for West Brom in the FA Cup. You dream as a kid of playing in stadiums like Anfield.
