Michele Timms initiated her professional basketball career in 1985 when she joined the Nunawading Spectres in Australia’s Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL), swiftly establishing herself as one of the league’s premier players.
Prior to her professional career, Timms had already gained significant basketball experience, contributing to the success of the Burwood Girls High School basketball team and leading them to a state championship. She also represented Victoria in national championships and earned a spot on the Australian junior national team. Upon entering the WNBL, Timms continued honing her skills and emerged as a dominant force in the league.
Between 1985 and 2000, Michele played 285 games in the WNBL, securing five championships in 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, and 1992. Following Robyn Maher, she became the second WNBL player to achieve 1000 assists and 1000 rebounds.
