Alan Shearer has opted not to select any Manchester City players in his Premier League Team of the Season so far, with Erling Haaland snubbed despite being the joint top goalscorer.
Shearer, the Premier League’s all-time record goalscorer, made his selections with the season having passed the halfway mark.
The Newcastle legend’s line-up features stars involved in this season’s title race, with Liverpool, Aston Villa, Arsenal and Tottenham all strongly represented.
Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins and West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen were chosen as Shearer’s two central strikers, with no place in the line-up for Haaland.

The Man City forward has been overlooked despite scoring 14 goals and providing four assists in 15 games, with the Norwegian the league’s joint top scorer with Salah.
Haaland, however, has reached his haul in five fewer games than the Egyptian.
Shearer referenced Haaland’s impressive season when praising Salah’s starring role for Liverpool this season.
‘We are witnessing greatness,’ Shearer said of Salah.
‘This season he’s scored his 150th Premier League goal, scored the joint-most goals along with Erling Haaland, and produced the joint-most assists.’
Shearer hailed Bowen as ‘devastating’ for West Ham and labelled Son has a ‘special talent’, while noting how Watkins had ‘spearheaded’ Aston Villa’s attack as they launched a surprise title challenge.
No Man City players are included in the team despite the Treble winners lying third in the table, five points behind Liverpool with a game in hand.
The pundit’s selection includes Premier League newcomers Guglielmo Vicario and Destiny Udogie, with the Italian duo having been key additions in goal and at left back for Tottenham.
