New England Revolution have signed full-back DeJuan Jones to a four-year contract extension through the 2027 MLS season.

Over the last few years, Jones has become mainstay in the Revs’ starting XI, playing a key role in their 2021 Supporters’ Shield triumph under then-head coach Bruce Arena.

In 2023, the 26-year-old managed 25 appearances (24 starts) for the Revs, scoring once and dishing out seven assists as a defender.

“DeJuan Jones has emerged into one of Major League Soccer’s better outside backs during his five seasons with our club,” Revs sporting director Curt Onalfo said in a release.

“DeJuan is a tremendous talent, a respected teammate, and a pillar in the local community, all of which make him an important part of our team moving forward. We are thrilled to have DeJuan in a Revolution uniform for years to come.”

The Lansing, Michigan native was selected 11th overall in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft by the Revs, and since then he’s gone on to register six goals and 20 assists in 125 league appearances. Jones made an instant impact as a rookie, managing 20 appearances (14 starts), adding one goal and one assist in MLS action.

“I am delighted to announce my decision to extend my journey with the Revolution. I would like to thank the entire club for supporting me since day one,” said Jones.

“This club has become my home and the bond I share with the fans, the organization, and New England is truly special. I’ve given my all to this club for the past five years and I’m eager to contribute to more success as we work towards our ultimate goal of winning an MLS Cup.”

Jones has played his part in New England consistently qualifying for MLS Cup playoffs, as the Eastern Conference side have missed the postseason just once since he was drafted ahead of the 2019 season.

Jones has represented the US men’s national team seven times since January of last year and was part of the 2023 Nations League winning squad.

The Revs, with first-year boss Caleb Porter in the dugout, are slated to begin their 2024 MLS season on February 24 at DC United. Prior to their opening league fixture, New England clash with Argentinian side Independiente in a first-leg Concacaf Champions Cup knockout stage contest on February 21.
