Chelsea fans have shown their frustration at Liverpool’s second goal being allowed to stand in their Premier League clash at Anfield.

The Blues had gone behind through Diogo Jota, before youngster Conor Bradley scored his first for the club shortly before half-time.

However the goal went to a VAR review after Ben Chilwell and Jota collided before the ball was released by Luis Diaz to Bradley down the right-flank.

One fan commented: ‘Not defending our terrible performance so far but that was a foul on Chilwell 100%. This is such a disgrace.’

Another Chelsea fan commented: ‘LiVARpool strikes again, no foul on chilwell no?’

One questioned how Chelsea were meant to perform at Anfield, writing: ‘Clear foul on Chilwell for that goal… how are we meant to perform here with this refereeing performance lol.’

Ben Feller added: ‘I mean is there anyone even manning the VAR tonight? Absolute joke. #CFC.’

VAR had earlier decided not to award Gallagher a penalty despite going down under a challenge from Van Dijk.

Chilwell, moments before Liverpool’s second, had gone into the referee’s book after he was judged to have dived in an attempt to win a penalty.

Things went from bad to worse for Chelsea as Jota was able to play the ball despite his tangle with Chilwell, with 20-year-old Bradley scoring with a brilliant strike.

There had been worries for Liverpool without Trent Alexander-Arnold at the right-back, though Bradley has been impressed since breaking into the team.

It was Bradley who provided the assist for Jota’s opener, before later providing one for Dominik Szoboszlai.
