A Third-Degree Felony Charge For Patrick Mahomes Sr.

Patrick Mahomes Sr. is now facing a third-degree felony charge. Patrick Mahomes Sr. is the father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes II and was arrested near Tyler, Texas for driving while intoxicated.

This is Patrick Mahomes Sr.’s third arrest for DWI and he is facing a third-degree felony charge. Patrick Mahomes Sr.’s third-degree felony also carries a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison.

Patrick Mahomes Sr. was held in jail overnight due to his third-degree felony charge and released on Sunday after posting bond. Records show that aside from his recent third-degree felony charge, Patrick Mahomes Sr. has been involved in several legal conflicts.

According to a published article by CBS Austin, Patrick Mahomes Sr.’s other charges include DWI incidents, failure to pay child support, and assault. Despite Patrick Mahomes Sr.’s charge of a third-degree felony, his son is set to lead the Chiefs in Super Bowl 58 against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas next Sunday.

DUI Charges Back In 1994

In a published article by Bleacher Report, Patrick Mahomes Sr. previously faced DUI charges in 1994 and was charged with his second DWI offense in 2018. In 2018, he pleaded guilty and served 40 days in jail.

Additionally, he was arrested and charged with public intoxication in 2016. This arrest comes just before Mahomes and the Chiefs are set to play in Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers.
