Raheem Sterling insists he would would ‘love’ to represent England again at this summer’s European Championships, but needs to ‘get his levels up’.

Sterling had featured prominently for Gareth Southgate during the England manager’s seven-year spell.

The Chelsea winger has missed out on a place in the England squad in the past five international breaks, raising doubts over whether Sterling will feature at Euro 2024.

‘I can try to get those levels up to be with the national team again, which is what I love to do.’

Sterling has earned 55 of his 82 England caps under Southgate, with only Harry Kane, Harry Maguire, Jordan Pickford, Kyle Walker and John Stones featuring more.

His last appearance for England was during their World Cup quarter-final defeat to France.

Following his move from Manchester City, the Englishman has struggled to find consistent form.

The Chelsea star was on the end of a 4-1 thrashing by Liverpool earlier in this week.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side currently sit tenth in the league and is facing questions about his future.

Chelsea will look to return to winning ways when the Blues host Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday.
