To revenge Nigeria’s Grammy loss, the Super Eagles must defeat South Africa.

The Nigerian Super Eagles have been urged to revenge the country’s Afrobeats musicians following a major Grammy rejection that saw five West African contenders lose the Best African Music Performance prize to South African pop sensation Tyla.

When the Grammy nominees were released months ago, six Nigerians were included in multiple categories, and the news was welcomed with enthusiasm.

However, during the award presentation on Sunday night, West African Time, bubbles burst and sadness reigned supreme, as none of the Nigerian artists nominated for separate categories received the medal.

Burna Boy, the previous winner, lost four categories: Best Global Music Album, Best African Music Performance, Best Global Music Performance, and Best Melodic Rap Performance.

Reeling from the disappointment of losing out to a continental rival, Nigerians have called on the Super Eagles, who are set to play Bafana Bafana in the AFCON semi-final on Wednesday, to exact revenge.
