Eric Dier is enjoying is new life in Germany and has Harry Kane to thank for helping him settle after his move to Bayern Munich. 

Dier swapped North London for the Bundesliga in January, switching to the German champions in a loan switch from Tottenham for the remainder of the season, with the option of a one-year extension. 

After playing just four times under Ange Postecoglou, the 30-year-old jumped at the chance to hook-up with former team-mate Harry Kane at Munich, and has credited the England skipper in helping him transition to life in the German city. 

‘Harry helped me a lot in the integration, that makes everything easier for me.’ Dier said.

‘But that applies to everyone in the club. They have all been incredible so far and have helped me a lot. I’m very grateful for that

I always want to play, no matter where I am. When I came here I was ready to play and I got the chance to do so in the past two games.’

Dier made his debut for Bayern in a 1-0 win over Union Berlin last month and his wasted no time in getting accustomed to his new surroundings. 

He hit the headlines last week after adopting a ‘German accent’ during his first interview at his new club. 

In drew comparisons to the likes of Jadon Sancho, who has also been heard speaking with a German twang during his interviews while at Borussia Dortmund, and Joey Barton who famously spoke in a french accent during his time with Marseille.

The defender, capped 49 times for England, has also been posting images to his social media account showing him enjoying his new home. 

In one post, Dier can be seen walking his dog and pushing a pram around Munich with the caption ‘Guten Tag München’ – good morning in German.

Bayern Munich remain two points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen after both teams recorded victories on Saturday. 

Harry Kane’s goal in their 3-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach saw the England skipper ensure that he set a new record as the club’s highest scorer in a debut season.
