Ivory Coast will face Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, after beating DR Congo 1-0 in the semi-final.

The winnung goal came in the 65th minute when Haller’s volley bounced down and over the Leopards goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi.

Despite a rocky start that led to the dismissal of coach Jean-Louis Gasset, Ivory Coast managed to progress through the group stage with late goals against Senegal and Mali.

Interim coach Emerse Fae now has the opportunity to lead the Elephants to their third continental title, adding to their victories in 1992 and 2015.

Meanwhile, in the final, Ivory Coast will face three-time champions Nigeria, who secured their spot with a 4-2 penalty shootout victory over South Africa after a thrilling 1-1 draw in Bouake earlier on Wednesday evening.
