The USMNT has confirmed a second tune up match for its Copa America journey – with the announcement that the team will play Brazil just over a week before they play in the group stage.

The team will travel down to Orlando, Florida to take on Brazil at Camping World Stadium on June 12 – just eleven days prior to their opening match.

News of this comes just a few days after it was confirmed the team will be taking on Colombia at FedEx Field in the Washington, D.C. suburbs.

This contest against Brazil marks the first time the Americans play the Seleção since a 2-0 defeat at MetLife Stadium in the New York metro area back in 2018.

Brazil holds an 18-0-1 record over the United States all time – with the one loss coming in the semifinals of the 1998 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Since then, the Brazilians have been on an eleven match winning streak over the Americans – having played four international friendlies since 2010.

This contest could prove to be more of a test for the United States than normal, depending on how they fare in their group stage play.

Brazil is in Group D and are the heavy favorites to win a group of Colombia, Paraguay, and the winner of a playoff between Costa Rica and Honduras.

Meanwhile, the USMNT are the favorites on paper to win a group of Uruguay, Panama, and Bolivia.

But, if the United States makes it out of their group – but fails to win it – they will take on the winners of Group D in the knockouts. Most likely, that means they’ll be playing Brazil.

The USA and Brazil have met only one time in the Copa America – in the semifinals of the 1995 tournament, where they lost on a goal from Aldair in the 13th minute.
