A father reacted in hilarious fashion after Lionel Messi’s accidentally struck his young daughter with the ball.

Messi’s Inter Milan continued their unbeaten start to the season on Saturday after thumping Orlando City 5-0.

During the match, Messi was on free-kick duties as usual but failed to hit target with one of them, instead striking a young girl in the stands.

Messi scored struck twice against Orlando to take his tally for the season up to three in as many matches.

Luis Suarez had opened the scoring with brace of his own inside 11 minutes before Robert Taylor added a third just before the half hour mark.

It was the Uruguyan’s first goals for Inter Miami having joined the club on a free transfer in December, and Messi heaped praise on him.

‘I am very happy for him [Suárez], that he was able to score. We were still calm, we know what Luis is and what he is capable of doing and everyone knows it,’ said Messi speaking in Spanish to Apple TV.

‘He is like that, when you least expect it, he solves a game for you as he did today, with the goals with the assists.’

Inter Miami sit third in the Eastern Conference and return to league action next weekend when they face Montreal.
