Manchester City have sold the story of their historic Treble campaign to Netflix for mega-money as Pep Guardiola’s side attempt to repeat the feat over the coming months.

Mail Sport can reveal that the streaming service has paid a seven-figure sum to showcase behind-the-scenes access of last season in a six-part documentary series.

Netflix are set to air City’s journey to all three major trophies, culminating in the Champions League final in Istanbul, early next month with a trailer expected to drop this week.

Guardiola has already guided them into the last eight of the FA Cup and they sit one point behind Premier League leaders Liverpool ahead of Sunday’s crunch clash at Anfield.

City will be the first Premier League team to feature on Netflix, which has enjoyed huge success in Formula 1, basketball, tennis and golf.

Sunderland ‘Til I Die was a hit with exclusive access of their dramatic fall from grace but the streaming giant’s football offerings have generally been focused on individuals – including David Beckham, Nicolas Anelka and Luis Figo.

Documentaries have been a theme for City with Guardiola in charge, having welcomed in an Amazon Prime crew to capture their Centurions season in 2017-18.

The club’s broadcast arm have also recently released two popular docuseries on their in-house channels in 2021 and 2022.

City’s camera crew are now fully embedded into the first team’s inner circle, following them throughout the Treble campaign. Once approached by Netflix, they worked in conjunction with production staff for months in a lengthy editing process.
