Kylian Mbappe has insisted that his relationship with Luis Enrique is ‘good’ despite recent reports of dressing room unrest.

Mbappe recently confirmed to PSG that he intends to leave the club upon the expiration of his contract in June. The superstar forward has since been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, with reports even suggesting that he has already agreed to a five-year deal with Los Blancos worth €15m per year.

Following confirmation that Mbappe is set to leave PSG, manager Enrique seemingly immediately began to plan for life without his star forward. Having not started Mbappe in a 2-0 win over Nantes, Enrique then options to sub him off in draws with Rennes and Monaco – hooking the France captain at half-time during the latter.

Speaking to Canal Plus on Tuesday, Enrique reaffirmed his intentions to prepare not to have Mbappe on books at the Parc des Princes next season, saying: “Kylian will score 50 goals, make 25 assists with any coach, any team. Apparently his immediate future won’t be here so we’ll have to test other solutions.”

Rumours have swirled regarding a potential schism in Mbappe and Enrique’s relationship as a result of this, with said rumours being exacerbated by the forward heading into the stands to watch the second half of the 0-0 draw with Monaco, rather than watching with his teammates on the bench.

Following his star turn in PSG’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 win over Real Sociedad on Tuesday evening, Mbappe has moved to quash rumours of a fallout in an interview with Canal Plus.

“My relationship with the coach is good,” insisted Mbappe. “There is no problem even if people might think that there is. I have many issues but the coach is not one of them.”

Mbappe’s come after the pair reportedly held ‘clear-the-air’ talks after the forward told the manager of his unhappiness with his current role at the club.
