Former President Donald Trump has admitted he regrets some of his social media posts after sharing a vile sex slur about Vice President Kamala Harris.

The Republican nominee was asked point blank on the Lex Fridman podcast Tuesday whether he is ‘being intentionally provocative’ on his Truth Social platform, and whether there are ‘times where you regret some of the truths you’ve posted.’

‘Yeah I do,’ Trump replied. ‘But not that often, honestly.’

He went on to admit that he would sometimes ‘get in trouble with’ what he shares from others ‘because you find down deep they’re into some group that you’re not supposed to be reposting.’

Trump added: ‘You don’t even know if those groups are good, bad or indifferent. But the reposts are the ones that really get you in trouble.’

Trump continued: ‘When you do your own words, it’s sort of easier.’

Still, he said, his platform has ‘worked out pretty well’ for him.

‘I tell you, Truth is very powerful, truths, and it’s my platform and it’s been powerful, very, very powerful. It goes everywhere,’ he explained.

‘I call it my typewriter, you know? That’s actually my typewriter.’

The discussion comes amid backlash to a post he re-shared on his platform, showing Vice President Kamala Harris standing next to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

‘Funny how blowjobs impacted both their careers differently,’ an X user wrote in the post Trump shared.

The interview came as Trump was slammed for re-sharing this post about his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, showing her with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

The comment in the post is a jab at the vice president's 1990s-era relationship with Willie Brown, who went on to become the mayor of San Francisco. The two are pictured here in 2005

The comment is supposedly a jab at the vice president’s 1990s-era relationship with Willie Brown, who went on to become the mayor of San Francisco.

Right-wingers have since framed the relationship as a sexual quid pro quo that enabled Harris to become the deputy district attorney and ultimately the District Attorney for Alameda County.

Harris has fought back against these claims, arguing that she was qualified for all of the positions she has held.

The post also seems to reference former President Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky.

As a screengrab showing Trump reposting the image spread on social media last week, many liberals hit out at the former president.

‘This should be a headline on every major news outlet,’ Cyndi Borowski wrote on X. ‘The American people deserve to see this.’

‘Funny how an adjudicated rapist like [Trump] has the gall to post this tbh,’ Brett Goodkin added.

Others also suggested the post – which came just over a week after Trump also shared a video parody of Alanis Morissette’s song ‘Ironic’ mocking Harris – proves that the former president is afraid of Harris’ momentum.

‘This is the Donald Trump playbook, in particular, when he’s on the defensive and feels he is not driving the conversation,’ said Jessica Mackler, president of EMILY’s List, a left-wing organization that backs female candidates who support abortion rights.

‘He uses these really gross, really sexist, often racist and sexual-in-nature attacks,’ she explained to the Huffington Post.

‘It does two things: It panders to his base and gets them riled up, and two, it seeks to create chaos around him and he can move into whatever space that is.

‘So the more that we see this movement by the Harris campaign, the ore we see this enthusiasm, the more he is pushed to those all-time lows.’

Other images Trump shared included a photo of the House committee investigating the events of January 6, 2021, saying: 'Indict the Unselect J6 Committee [for] sedition'

Another repost showed President Joe Biden, his son Hunter, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Dr. Anthony Fauci, Bill Gates and Harris in prison attire, saying: 'How to actually fix the system'

In fact, the Harris post came amid a flurry of Trump’s reposts on Truth Social last Wednesday morning.

Other images he shared included a photo of the House committee investigating the events of January 6, 2021, saying: ‘Indict the Unselect J6 Committee [for] sedition.

‘Retruth if you want to lock them up,’ it said.

Another featured Trump sitting next to former President Barack Obama.

‘All roads lead to Obama,’ the post said. ‘Retruth if you want public tribunals.’

A fourth repost showed President Joe Biden, his son Hunter, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Dr. Anthony Fauci, Bill Gates and Harris in prison attire, saying: ‘How to actually fix the system.’

But both the Trump campaign and his ardent supporters have defended his posts.

In an interview with CNN last week, Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance said his running mate is ‘a political candidate who isn’t stodgy, who likes to have some fun and likes to tell some jokes.

‘I’d much rather have a candidate who’s willing to give every interview and is willing to tell some jokes,’ he said. ‘I do think that’s how you lift people up.’

Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt also hit out at the New York Times for its coverage on the former president reposting the meme about Harris and Clinton.

She said Trump ‘rightfully calls to question her ability to be commander in chief.’

And on X, Trump supporters said they did not see a problem with Trump’s reposts.

‘Your problem is?’ one X user wrote in response to a Washington Post reporter sharing screengrabs of Trump’s reposts.

‘Seems accurate, no lies told,’ he said.

‘It’s true,’ another added. ‘And you idiots can’t stop it from being revealed.’
