For every thousand transfer rumours, only a handful will come to fruition.
Gossip columns overflow with astonishing stories and reports as the summer transfer window approaches, with numerous wild rumors already stirring excitement on social media.
Some of the world’s biggest stars are supposedly on the move in the near future, with some surprise destinations touted.
For entertainment purposes only, here are the seven wildest transfer rumours we’ve seen this week.

Let’s kick off with an intriguing rumor. As per TEAMtalk, Manchester United has shown interest in acquiring top talents Raphinha from Barcelona and Nico Williams from Athletic Club this summer by offloading some lesser-used players to fund the deals.
The Red Devils are probably eager to land these players—who wouldn’t be?—but they’d likely need to sell their entire squad and maybe a few essential organs just for Raphinha’s left foot. Financial strategist Sir Jim Ratcliffe would have to eliminate a few additional departments to cover Williams’ weekly earnings as well.
Sorry, United, you just don’t have that pulling power any longer.

Nottingham Forest have enjoyed an exceptional campaign under Nuno Espirito Santo and will almost certainly be playing Champions League football next term. However, links with Viktor Gyokeres are wildly far-fetched.
FootballTransfers report the Sporting CP sharpshooter has been contacted regarding a return to the Midlands, with that conversation between Forest and Gyokeres’ representatives likely as short as it was ambitious.

Foot Mercato claim that Barcelona are “betting everything” on signing Mohamed Salah on a free transfer this summer, but it’s a gamble that will only serve to humiliate the Catalan giants based on their disastrous financial position.
Given Liverpool are reluctant to offer the Egyptian his desired wages and a long-term deal, Barcelona have little hope of being able to tie the 32-year-old to a contract worthy of his talent.
Lamine Yamal won’t be too happy about such rumours – no matter how ludicrous.

Arsenal have been crying out for a ruthless number nine for several years, with Mikel Arteta’s side having come up short in recent Premier League title races as a result. So, naturally, Darwin Nunez has been identified as the perfect solution.
Well, according to Fichajes, Arteta is keen on luring the profligate centre-forward from Anfield during the summer window. Liverpool appear increasingly likely to sell the Uruguayan but Arsenal are unlikely to do their fellow Premier League rivals a favour by signing the misfiring South American.

Apparently four goals and four assists in 11 matches on loan at Real Betis has been enough to convince Bayern Munich to sign Antony. That’s per Fichajes once more, who have certainly not established themselves as the kings of credibility.
The £82m Man Utd flop has impressed during his brief spell in Spain but Vincent Kompany would be brave to manoeuvre funds towards signing the Brazilian given his calamitous form over the past few seasons.

There can be no ridiculous rumours in regards to Chelsea, who have zero willpower when it comes to splashing the cash. But a £151.5m double swoop for Real Madrid duo Rodrygo and Endrick is about as wild as it gets.
It’s Fichajes again with this one and to be fair, if one club was going to launch such an outrageous bid, it would be Chelsea. But the odds of this happening are infinitesimal, and that’s being generous.

Paris Saint-Germain certainly have the financial muscle to engineer a deal for Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal and El Nacional claim that they are keen to convince the youngster to rebuff contract offers from the Catalan giants in favour of a move to the French capital.
That, however, seems extremely unlikely. Yamal has repeatedly reaffirmed his commitment to Barcelona and it seems inevitable that he will sign a bonkers deal with the club sooner rather than later.
“I owe everything to Barca,” said the 17-year-old back in February.
