A recorded phone call between Kanye West and Sean Combs has been used in a new song.
A leaked recording emerged simultaneously with the release of West’s latest track, Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine. The song includes samples from the jailhouse call, contributions from Christian “King” Combs, the son of Combs, and West’s daughter, North. Facing criticism from ex-wife Kim Kardashian for involving North, a source indicates that Combs now feels like he has become “collateral damage.” The source noted that Combs thought the call was genuinely concerning his wellbeing and is now embarrassed to be embroiled in the controversy.
Kardashian is actively trying to prevent West from distributing the song, labeling it “irresponsible” and a disregard for North’s future and reputation. She initially advised West of her trademark over their daughter’s name and sought immediate legal intervention. West did not attend the session. Even though his social media post featuring the song was swiftly removed, fans had already widely shared the audio online.
As Combs’ trial nears, his legal team is working to prevent certain evidence from being presented in court. They argue that a circulated video, showing Combs attacking ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, has been manipulated to misrepresent events. However, prosecutors assert they have the original, unaltered footage from the Intercontinental Hotel. This claim is supported by an apology video from Combs, suggesting the video’s credibility. Defense lawyers are also disputing the legitimacy of evidence collected during federal raids, accusing authorities of “grossly misrepresenting facts” to secure search warrants.
