AUGUSTA, Ga () – We are only a week and a half away from the Masters tournament and restaurants in the CSRA are getting ready.

Tens of thousands of patrons come to Augusta every year to see some of their favorite golfers, which means more people getting to eat at some of the locals’ favorite spots.

With Augusta National Golf Club being on Washington road, many of the restaurants are having to prepare a year in advance.

Brett Althoff, General Manager at Top Dawg in Augusta said, “You start talking to your vendors, you start talking to your suppliers, you make sure that of course they have enough food so you’re not going to run out of anything that’s unexpected. you try to get the new products in for example, new lines of this, new lines of that, and just making it fun for the guests, making sure that you’ve got the entertainment to take care of and to make it even more fun than what it already is.”

Althoff said they want to make it better for guests year after year with new ideas such as having a putting green, a possible golf simulator and as always, live bands.

“It’s just a great time to be in the business of hospitality in which case you get to experience something that you might not have had being a guest from out of town, they don’t know the concepts or they don’t know half the stuff that’s waiting for them in the wonderful city of Augusta, you get to have an opportunity to try stuff that you’ve never had before.” said Althoff.

Many patrons coming into Augusta either do not live in Georgia or in the United States so business owners want to make sure guests are getting a taste of the CSRA.

“The hospitality, the city in itself, all the different restaurants, all the different cultures, all the different themes and things like that because it’s the ethnicity of the food and everything else like that, you don’t get to see some of it, especially for those coming across the seas and international, the fanfare and the food is something new for them to try.”

Local businesses want to make sure these guests coming from out-of-town experience not only the Masters tournament but the heart of the city as well.
