JSO: Man killed after fleeing from police with gun, officer shot at him 4 times

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said in a post on X that no officers were injured in the shooting, and a suspect has been taken to the hospital with injuries.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A suspect is in the hospital with injuries after the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said police officers were involved in a shooting on Toledo Road in Jacksonville’s San Jose neighborhood Sunday night.

JSO said in a post on X around 9:20 p.m. Sunday their officers are on the scene of the shooting in the 3700 block of Toledo Road.

JSO said officers were dispatched to the area, and when they arrived, the shooting occurred. JSO said no officers were injured, and the suspect has been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

There’s no threat to the surrounding community, according to JSO.
