Sydney Sweeney has made her first public appearance since calling off her wedding to fiancé Jonathan Davino amid claims she felt ‘overwhelmed’ by their relationship. 

Despite recently making the tough decision to end her seven-year romance, the  Euphoria star, 27, looking nothing short of sensational as she attended CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Tuesday. 

For the occasion, she wowed in a strapless, off-white gown with a corset-style bodice.

Her four-carat diamond engagement ring, which was rumored to cost between $50,000 to $150,000, was notably absent from her left hand.

As she walked the red carpet, Sweeney posed for photos with Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar.

The trio are all set to star in the upcoming 2025 American psychological thriller, The Housemaid, based on the 2022 novel of the same name by Freida McFadden.

The actress managed to put on a happy face as she returned to work amid her recent heartbreak while mingling with her costars and smiling for photographers.

Last month, Sweeney and Sklenar, who is dating Courtney Salviolo, sent the internet into a frenzy after she posted a flirty video of them together on Instagram.

In the clip, he can be seen picking her up and hoisting her onto his shoulders with ease as they took a break on set.

Under the video, one of her followers joked that her ‘fiancé is gods strongest soldier.’ 

Another quipped: ‘Her fiancé is fighting for his life.’ 

‘Is her marketing strategy just flirt with her co star? Bc slay but we see right through it. Also girl you’re engaged,’ a third wrote.  

It was reported last week that the actress and film producer, 41, scrapped their wedding plans due to ‘major issues.’

The former couple started dating in 2018 and got engaged in 2022, but for the most part kept their relationship assiduously private.

On Monday, a source told People that Sweeney and Davino’s relationship had been ‘rocky for a long time.’

At this time, the insider noted that Sweeney has been focusing on her career and is ‘exactly where she wants to be.’ 

‘Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She’s all about working right now and very excited about all her projects,” the source says of Sweeney,’ they explained. 

The source explained that the performer did, however, feel ‘overwhelmed’ by her ‘relationship and her wedding.’

Ultimately, she ‘didn’t feel right about’ walking down the aisle and wants to focus on her ‘magical career that she could only dream of a few years ago.’

‘She’s not ready to settle down,’ the source explained. ‘They only lasted for this long because it was hard for her to break it off. They didn’t split because there is no love. They split because she just wants to focus on her career right now.’ 

Following news of her and Davino’s split, Sweeney had a friendly reunion with her former costar, Glen Powell, at his sister Leslie’s wedding. 

Amid headline speculating if she had already moved on, a source told Us Weekly that there was ‘nothing going on romantically between Glen and Sydney.’ 

The source said that Sydney met up with Glen because his sister Leslie invited her to her wedding in Texas over the weekend.

The day after the ceremony on Saturday, the Anyone But You co-stars grabbed a bite together at a local Dallas restaurant, as seen in photos shared by gossip site DeuxMoi on Instagram.

‘Sydney is close with the entire family,’ the source said before adding that Sweeney and Powell’s sister have ‘been close friends for a long time.’

The star responded to the wedding invitation ‘months ago’ with plans to attend with a plus-one. 

‘Sydney brought one of her girlfriends to the wedding as a guest and she RSVP’d months ago,’ the insider told the outlet.

Back in 2023, the two stars were notably embroiled in romance speculation while they promoted their romantic comedy Anyone But You.

During a past interview with Business Insider, the actor opened up about using their ‘authentic chemistry’ when it came to promoting Anyone But You.

Following news of her and Davino’s split, Sweeney had a friendly reunion with her former costar, Glen Powell, at his sister Leslie’s wedding; seen in 2024

Also in 2023, Powell split from his girlfriend Gigi Paris and expressed, ‘Well, look, the only reason it made things harder for me to lean into that stuff was that I was going through a very real breakup amidst a promotional tour.
