EXCLUSIVE: Television agent Brandon Finkelstein is leaving CAA to join Drew Comins’ Creative Engine Entertainment as VP of Production and Development. He is one of multiple executives Comins is bringing in as he is building out Creative Engine under the company’s first-look deal with Fifth Season.

“Brandon’s excellent taste, entrepreneurial spirit and strong talent relationships make him a perfect fit for Creative Engine,” Comins said. “He brings an incredible range of knowledge and relationships to his work, plus a strong commitment to championing filmmakers. It’s an exciting time for the company and I’m confident he’ll be an integral part of helping us grow the range and scale of our business.”

At CAA, Los Angeles-based Finkelstein, who joined the company out of college in 2016 and was promoted to agent in 2020, was considered a rising star. He worked with directors, writers and producers, including Comins who signed with CAA a couple of years ago.

“Throughout my time at CAA, I have had the unique opportunity to learn the TV business through my work with many of the most talented people in our industry – clients, colleagues, and friends,” Finkelstein said. “When I met Drew, I was energized by his creativity, ambition, and motivation, and immediately knew that he would be an incredible collaborator. I am inspired by what Drew has built and am excited to dive deeper into the creative and stories that we can help share with the world.”

Comins executive produces Yellowjackets, whose current third season on Paramount+ with Showtime is at an all-time high in viewership, up 39% over Season 2. He shared in the show’s two Outstanding Drama Series Emmy nominations.

At Creative Engine, Finkelstein succeeds Max Greenspan, who served as VP for the past three years. The company’s development slate includes such high-profile projects as Lena Dunham’s spy series Covers for Netflix; The Holdout, starring Amy Adams at HBO with Industry creators Mickey Down & Konrad Kay; The Stowaway with Oscar Isaac at Apple TV+; Reverb at Peacock, starring Renée Elise Goldsberry with John Legend’s Get Lifted Film Co.; and They Both Die at the End, from Bridgerton creator Chris Van Dusen and EP Bad Bunny.
