EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A fugitive wanted in Conroe, Texas, for allegedly killing someone at a Taco Cabana drive-through in 2006 is suspected to have escaped to Mexico, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Glen Homes Jr., 41, is charged with a capital murder in Conroe, Texas, in May 2006. Several years after the incident, he removed his ankle monitor and fled, as reported by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office believes Holmes could be living in Mexico or near the U.S.-Mexico border.

In May 2006, Holmes allegedly shot and killed Barry Thomas at the Taco Cabana drive-thru on South Loop 336 and stole Thomas’ vehicle.

Holmes subsequently led police on a high-speed pursuit and managed to elude authorities for almost three weeks across Montgomery, Harris, and Walker Counties. The Conroe Police Department later received a tip about Holmes’ presence near an apartment complex in Houston, leading to his arrest 17 days later by multiple law enforcement agencies.

Holmes was booked on a capital murder charge and posted bond in August 2006. He was then arrested again later in the year possibly for violating his parole, but was able to post bond and be released again, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.

Holmes cut off his ankle monitor in 2008, didn’t show up for his trial, and fled, the Montgomery Sheriff’s Office said. Holmes hasn’t been seen since and is considered armed and dangerous. He currently has an active warrant for capital murder bond forfeiture.

Holmes is 5-foot-4, weighs around 170 to 180 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. He has a small tattoo on the right side of his neck that reads “Patricia.”

A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Holmes’ arrest and tipsters can remain anonymous.

Those who have any information on Holmes’ current whereabouts can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-STOP (7867).
