ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) — One man is dead after a shooting outside the Magic Mall in Orlando on Sunday.
The Orlando Police Department said it responded to a reported shooting at 2155 West Colonial Drive around 2:19 a.m.
Upon arrival, police found the victim, Joseph U. Phillips, suffering from a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation revealed that Phillips had been at the D’Junction Island Bar and Restaurant but had stepped outside just as an argument broke out among a group of people in the parking lot.
During the altercation, the suspect produced a firearm and attempted to shoot another individual, resulting in a stray bullet hitting the victim, police said.
Detectives with the Orlando Police Department identified the suspect as Keishawn A. Richards, and he was taken into custody.
The Orlando Police Department has charged Richards with manslaughter.
