SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Superheroes are what connects this week’s local trending stories.

First up, we’ve got two events for comic book fans this weekend.

Superstar Comic Con is set to arrive at the Savannah Convention Center on Saturday, May 3, and continue through Sunday, May 4. Attendees will have the chance to see a wide range of guests, including the artists and performers responsible for creating beloved comic book and fantasy characters.

If you’re unable to attend Superstar Comic Con, don’t worry—there’s still something exciting happening. Neighborhood Comics will be offering free comic books on Saturday. Visitors can choose up to five comics, but those who bring a donation of used men’s clothing will be allowed to select ten comics instead.

Additionally, a local hero will be receiving special acknowledgment. This week, it was announced that the hip hop duo Outkast will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this November.

Founding member Big Boi is from the Hostess City and an especially proud relative sounded off on his nephew receiving the honor.

Lastly, Digital Producer Dylan James bids farewell to and offers a special thanks to the digital production team.
