DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — A Cowarts man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after police say he was walking around downtown Dothan with a fake RPG.

The Dothan police responded to the 200 block of East Main Street on Tuesday after receiving numerous calls about a man who appeared to be carrying a “rocket-propelled grenade launcher.”

Photos show a man carrying the RPG around downtown Dothan.

According to Dothan Police, 26-year-old Keyun Hill, was found with the RPG, which was a replica.

Hill was apprehended and faced charges for possessing a hoax destructive device. He was taken to the Dothan City Jail, and authorities reported that the fake RPG was confiscated and logged into evidence.

Dothan Police said Hill has described himself as a “social media prankster” and was in the process of filming a video.

“Entertainment can take various forms, yet actions like this that unsettle the community and lead to panic in public areas are unacceptable,” the Dothan Police stated. “We encourage social media content creators to apply common sense when engaging in their activities.”
