HERMANN, Mo. (KTVI) Thirty-two people were hurt when a trolley carrying dozens crashed Saturday morning near Hermann, Missouri, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The Hermann Volunteer Fire Department reports the bus was carrying at least 41 people. A Highway Patrol crash report states that at least 32 people suffered injuries, ranging in severity from minor to serious. The victims reportedly ranged in age from 27 to 68 years old.

The crash occurred around 10:45 a.m. Saturday on Highway 100 just southwest of Hermann, about 80 miles west of St. Louis.

Investigators say the bus was heading westbound when it veered onto the right side of the road. The driver then overcorrected and traveled off the left side of the road, which led to the shuttle bus striking a ditch.

The driver, a 45-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to the hospital, authorities said.

According to the Highway Patrol, three other occupants suffered serious injuries, 11 suffered moderate injuries, and 17 suffered minor injuries. All were sent to hospitals for treatment or as a precaution.

The Hermann Volunteer Fire Department says all occupants were extricated within 40 minutes of responders including firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, and a flight crew arriving at the scene.

Additional information was not immediately available.
