An Indiana man was arrested weeks after he and his father were allegedly involved in the shooting of another man after an argument about money.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police have accused 22-year-old Donnie Abney III of murder in the case involving the shooting that led to the death of 62-year-old Forrest Tab Grant on April 17. Reports from local Fox affiliate WXIN indicate that a court filing details an argument between Grant and Donnie Abney III, also known as “Little Donnie,” along with his father, Donnie Abney Jr., referred to as “Big Donnie.” The altercation allegedly concluded with Little Donnie shooting Grant in the back.

Court documents reveal that police interviewed nine witnesses, all of whom identified “Little Donnie” as the shooter. The witnesses recounted seeing the dispute between Grant and the two older men at a bus stop. Little Donnie, as he is mentioned in the court files, supposedly sided with his father in the argument.

During this verbal confrontation, it is claimed that “Little Donnie” brandished a gun but did not initially shoot. However, when Grant walked away from the argument, it is alleged that Little Donnie shot him in the back.

Both Abney men then ran from the scene. Grant was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
