With Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz not showing up at his dad’s 50th birthday celebration, people are speculating if the reason is tied to Nicola’s connection with Romeo’s current partner.

Nicola and Romeo Beckham’s new girlfriend Kim Turnbull have never been pictured publicly at the same event, family or otherwise.

It’s unclear how Nicola and Kim get along, but it is known that Brooklyn and Kim were once quite close, often seen together in 2016 amid unconfirmed dating rumors, long before she began seeing Romeo.

According to an exclusive report by the Mail’s Katie Hind, tensions between Nicola and Brooklyn’s family have reportedly escalated. Friends of the family suggest that Nicola tends to “start a disagreement” leading up to family gatherings, which then results in Brooklyn missing the events. Romeo first publicly launched his relationship with girlfriend Kim in November last year after weeks of exchanging flirty Instagram ‘likes’ and she has since been warmly welcomed into the family.

The model and aspiring DJ, 25, looks like she has always been apart of the Beckham family unit in group pictures shared of them online over the past few months, most recently at David’s birthday celebrations.

However despite the friendly reception from her boyfriend’s parents, she has seemingly never crossed paths with his brother’s wife, Nicola, 30, suggesting a frostiness between Kim and the couple.

Online clues to the feud reveal that at the same time Romeo and Kim’s romance began, Brooklyn and Nicola also completely stopped engaging with his sibling online.

The most recent opportunity would have been David’s milestone birthday, however Brooklyn and Nicola failed to attend all three of his celebrations.

While Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola were invited to all of them, the couple choose to avoid the family occasions, despite being in London while the Beckhams threw an intimate dinner nearby at their Cotswolds pile.

The decision to abstain from the event, may be linked to the fact Brooklyn is said to be locked in a feud with Romeo and not on speaking terms over Kim.

Brooklyn is reported to have had ‘romantic connection’ with Kim during their teenage years and is uncomfortable with her dating his sibling, reports TMZ.

This has been denied by Brooklyn’s youngest brother Cruz, 20, however the pair were pictured together on many occasions throughout 2016.

It is also possible that Nicola is not keen on the idea of mingling with one of her husband’s former flames at family events.

Following their brief romance, Brooklyn is allegedly questioning Kim’s ‘right intentions in dating Romeo’ could have sparked a ‘rift’ with his brother.

The publication claimed Brooklyn and Nicola ‘would not be present at any public family events that Kim is at for the foreseeable’ after things started to ‘go south in December’.

However it has since been suggested that Brooklyn told his parents that he would be around to celebrate David’s birthday, before his screeching U-turn on the matter.

According to TMZ, Brooklyn and Nicola requested to privately see David on his own to celebrate his birthday away from Romeo and Kim.

The couple apparently flew to the UK with the ‘sole purpose’ of celebrating David but they were apparently told their options were to attend the family events or not at all.

The US publication also suggested that Brooklyn and Nicola reached out privately to wish David a happy birthday on the big day. 

Romeo and Kim are believed to have sparked a romance in around October last year as she began liking his social media posts, before the couple went Instagram official with their relationship the following month.

Around this time, Nicola and Brooklyn, who have always been loyal ‘likes’ of his social media posts, stopped showing any appreciation for his content.

It is also worth noting that Victoria, 50, and David are yet to follow Kim on Instagram.

It was previously stated that Brooklyn and Nicola skipped Victoria’s fashion show in March because ‘Kim was present at the catwalk’, according to the US publication.

It appeared at the time that Brooklyn had double booked himself as he was forced to miss his mother’s show.

The fashion designer and footballer David’s eldest son was the only member of the family not present in the French capital due to his own business commitments.

While his brothers and sister joined their father in the front row, Brooklyn was busy elsewhere promoting his £15 hot sauce range Cloud23.

Following his alleged connection with Kim, she went on to date her now ex-boyfriend Rocco Ritchie, who is the son of Madonna and Guy Ritchie. Brooklyn met his now-wife Nicola in October 2019.

Rather than blaming Brooklyn’s rift with Romeo, David and Victoria are apparently pointing the finger at Nicola and her influence over their son.

A source told Mail+: ‘Victoria and David would do anything to get their son back, but they are done with Nicola now,’ adds the family friend.’ 

‘Nicola basically finds a way to start an argument then she pushes him to not speak to his family and then he doesn’t show for family events. She’s done this before every family event since the wedding. 

‘As for David’s birthday, it feels like it’s all part of the same pattern. Brooklyn will think he is going to see his family so he will make plans to. On this occasion he told his parents some weeks ago he’d be there for David’s birthday.’ 

On Sunday evening, Victoria shared a highlights reel of images from the almost week-long celebration – but snubbed Brooklyn and Nicola by failing to mention them in any of her posts.

‘Creating special memories with family and friends. We love you all,’ wrote Victoria, her message followed by a heart emoji and tags for David, Romeo, Cruz and Harper. 

While each of her three youngest children were tagged in the caption of the social media photo album, she skipped Brooklyn despite usually writing something along the lines of ‘missing you @brooklynbeckham’ on previous occasions.

David reposted many of his wife’s photos, and, perhaps tellingly, wrote in one caption: ‘I love you all, thank you for making my birthday so memorable,’ also failing to mention his eldest son.

In the first sign of the feud thawing, David said that Brooklyn was ‘missed’ on a birthday fishing trip he took last week with Cruz and Romeo. 

Sharing his own post from the evening, Romeo doubled down on his support for Kim as he posted a picture of them in France together with the words ‘my world’.

In Brooklyn’s absence, Romeo stepped up as the second oldest son and did a speech at the dinner hosted at their £12million country manor.

Romeo previously seemingly took a swipe at his older brother in an Instagram post last month after Brooklyn and Nicola were absent again from a party hosted in Miami to kick off David’s birthday celebratons.

David was joined by his youngest children Romeo, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13. As well as Cruz’s girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 29, and Kim Turnbull. 

The model posted a photo of the whole family apart from the couple, alongside the caption: ‘Family is everything’.

David and Victoria posted pictures of Romeo and Kim looking smitten on their Instagram in photos before they headed to the former footballer’s bash.

While the Inter Miami co-owner posted a variety of snaps from the night, Brooklyn shared pictures from a recent weekend away with Nicola.

The couple enjoyed a weekend away in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, where they relaxed with horse riding treks and meals out together.

The trip, which took place a week ago, was posted to Brooklyn’s Instagram page on Monday evening.

The photos showed the loved-up couple hanging out on the beach, as well as tucking into burgers and pancakes. 

Brooklyn captioned the selection of shots: ‘Santa Barbara weekends away ❤️.’ 

In further evidence of the ever-growing wedge between the family, David revealed he took his two youngest sons away on a secret fishing trip.

The former pro footballer revealed that he planned the holiday six months ago with his sons and shared an insight into the trip.

While David did not reveal whether Brooklyn had been originally asked on the boys trip – he chose not to attend the holiday.

In what appeared to be a pointed jibe at Brooklyn’s absence, David wrote ‘dinner for three’, as the family tucked into a freshly-caught dinner of scallops and lobster.

The father of four revealed that they had caught their dinner just three hours earlier on the technology-free trip where their mobile phones were banned.

Beaming beside his less than impressed sons, David wrote: ‘Last time boys were allowed to use their phones. Not so happy about it.’ 

In another shot, David held up a net full of scallops which he said were ready to be cooked on the fire.

Sharing photos of them having dinner, proud dad David showed his sons preparing the seafood before cooking it on a BBQ outside.

Clearly impressed with the results, he said: ‘Doesn’t get any fresher than this.’

As well as revealing what they ate, David also posted videos of their very basic accommodation.

He joked that his son Romeo wasn’t happy with their lodging, which was a far cry from their selection of multi million pound properties.

 

Romeo and Kim first sparked dating rumours in late 2024 when they were spotted on several dates in London.

By November 2024, they took their romance to the next level by going Instagram official.

Prior to this, Romeo was in a long-term relationship with model Mia Regan. The couple had been together since 2019 before announcing their split in February 2024.

It was claimed the couple went their separate ways after an argument, with Mia – who is known as Mimi Moocher online – moving out of the home they shared together.

Romeo confirmed their separation by writing on Instagram: ‘Mooch and I have parted ways after 5 years of love, we still have a lot of respect for each other, and still hold a strong friendship and always will.’

Sharing a picture of herself with Romeo on her Instagram Stories, Mia wrote: ‘This is an Ro, we have grown up with each other since we were 16!! Love takes different forms & paths as you mature.’

‘We aren’t tougher romantically but we do share lots & lots of love for one another… after 5 years we friendzoned each other.’

News of their split had already surfaced before both Romeo and Mia issued their statements.

Following their split, Romeo started dating his new girlfriend Kim and they have gone from strength-to-strength since.

Meanwhile, Mia has moved on with new boyfriend Henry O’Sullivan and they have featured on each other’s social media since October 2024.
