The Governor posted a message to re-affirm the state’s strong relationship with Canada as a key tourism partner.
Pritzker aims to assure Canadians that Illinois and the U.S. are welcoming despite the ongoing political tensions between the two countries.
“I understand if any Canadian might feel reluctant to visit the U.S. due to our current president and his recent actions on the international stage. However, as the Governor and self-appointed chief marketing officer of Illinois, I want to reassure you that we are as excited as ever to host you,” mentioned Governor JB Pritzker. “In Illinois, we are enthusiastic to demonstrate that Midwest friendliness is the closest counterpart to Canadian hospitality that you can find south of Windsor. As you travel south along our shared Great Lakes, we are waiting to greet you in the middle of everything.”
