Andrea Eilber, 20, is dating KC Grondin, a coworker she met at the local grocery store.
Friends often describe their relationship as very “lovey-dovey.” When Andrea agrees to house-sit for her aunt and uncle, she invites KC over for a movie night. However, when KC arrives, Andrea’s car is missing from the driveway, and no one answers the door. He heads back home and later gets a text from Andrea canceling their plans and saying they’ll talk the next day. KC is devastated, fearing she might be breaking up with him.
The following day, with no response from Andrea by phone or text, her father organizes a search party. Her car is discovered abandoned on a nearby road. Searchers find Andrea in the basement of the house, tied to a chair and shot in the back of the head.
Joseph Scott Morgan and Dave Mack talk about how police initially arrested, tried, and convicted the wrong person—while the real killer remained at large. Scientists at Othram later helped identify the actual suspect, marking another success for Othram and DNASolves.com.
